Energy Storage Systems (ESS)
As battery technology continues to advance and prices decline, the number of potential customer uses for energy storage is expanding. Similarly, the potential will also increase for “value stacking” that is, having a single energy storage project provide multiple services, generating multiple revenue streams.
SKY utilizes several modular, customizable ESS solutions to allow for maximum design flexibility. A typical standalone project would consist of several 20 foot containerized battery systems, with smaller auxiliary equipment, enclosed in a 10,000 square foot area to allow proper setbacks for maintenance.
ESS ADVANTAGES
Global Adjustment Savings
Peak Shaving/Shifting
Demand Bill Management
Load Leveling
Microgrids/Islanding
Renewable Firming
Back-up/Emergency power
Voltage/Frequency Control
An ESS can be a standalone installation, or be combined with solar for even more significant economic benefits.
As a standalone project with such a small footprint, SKY can lease unused area on commercial, industrial or agricultural sites, creating a long-term revenue stream for owners without any of the responsibilities for operation or maintenance.
